Salafiyyah of Kuwait”, “Salafiyyah of Saudi Arabia”, “Salafiyyah of Jordon”, “Salafiyyah of Egypt”

It’s not possible to attach Salafiyyah to a place. If it is attached to a place, this means that the person who considers himself Salafee, he says:

“We are Salafees of Kuwait, we don’t need the major scholars from Saudi Arabia.”

This is not Salafiyyah, this is flawed. The one who wants the people to come to him and not to others from the Salafee scholars, there is a flaw in saying that “Salafiyyah is with us”. What is considered is the Usool (principles) and the consideration is of the reality of Salafiyyah. As a result of that, my brothers – All praise to Allaah-, we find scholars in many different areas, and we find that their speech is united. We find that they praise one another, and they encourage taking (knowledge) from others from among the Salafee scholars. As for the labeling, then it’s even worse. From the annals of history until today, the SalafeesAhlus Sunnah wal Jamaa’ah – used to be labeled as “Hashawiyyah” as an attack on them. They were called, “Hashawiyyah“. This label, “Hashawiyyah“, is generalized on Ahlus Sunnah – those who affirm the attributes of Allaah- , especially by the Ashaa’irah. Also, (the label) “Mujassimah” and “Hanaabillah“. Labeling in order to alienate, because they are not able to accept the views of Ahlus Sunnah. They know that if they left the people to listen to Ahlus Sunnah, the Truth will become manifest and the falsehood will disappear. When the Da’wah (call) of Shaykh Muhammad bin Abdul-Wahhaab -may Allaah have Mercy on him- was established -his call is pure Salafiyyah-, they came with the term “Wahhaabiyyah“. They would say, “these people are Wahhaabi.” This terminology is still being used today in order to alienate. Some of them add to it and say, “Wahhaabiyyah Najdiyya”, affected by nationalism. They attribute this to Shaykhul Islaam Muhammad bin Abdul-Wahhaab. Shaykh Muhammad bin Abdul-Wahhaab did not bring anything that was not brought by the Salaf-as-Saalih (pious predecessors) – may Allaah be pleased with him-

In this day, they label the Salafees with “Jaamiyyah“. In these days, the attacks (on Ahlus Sunnah)  by using this label are strongly used in all social media.  “Al-Jaamiyyah” (The Jami’s), in order to ostracize. I read what some of them have mentioned regarding the attributes of the “Jaamiyyah“. I found that some of what they mentioned that it is (in actuality) the Truth that Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa’ah are upon. (For example):

  • The issue of obedience to the ruler of the Muslims except in disobedience to Allaah
  • Preventing oppositions in this issue
  • Warning from fitan (tribulations)
  • Warning from Tahazzub (partisanship) and Ahwaa (vein desires)
  • Refuting the Ahlul Bid’ah (people of innovations)

Some of what they attribute, the Salafees are free from it and the Hizbiyyoon (partisans) are the ones who have these attributes. From the strangest things that I’ve read, and this is the biggest research they did on this issue – he claims that he did a research on the “Jaamiyyah” -, is that they (the Salafees) want to bring down Shaykh Abdul-Muhsin al-Abbaad (i.e/ to malign him). (He says:) “From their attributes is that they want to bring down Shaykh Abdul-Muhsin al-Abbaad.” He also mentioned me as one of the Shaykhs of the “Jaamiyyah“. In my classes in the Masjid an-Nabawi (the Prophet’s mosque), I repeatedly emphasize that the mountain of knowledge in Madeenah and the (most knowledgeable) scholar of Madeenah is Shaykh Abdul-Muhsin al-Abbaad. I encourage attending his classes. Rather, I do not schedule a class during the times of Shaykh Abdul-Muhsin’s classes. However, they want to ostracize the Manhaj (methodology) of the Salaf and the Truth by using labels, by saying “Jaamiyyah” or “Madkhaliyyah” and similar to that. The Ghulaat (extremists) or the Mumayyi’ah (People who water-down or are excessively lenient). Why do they mention these labels? Because these labels are not used by the Salafees, because they know the reality of As-Salafiyyah and the Salafees. The Salafees are free from these labels. Regarding “Jaamiyyah“, from the perspective that it’s a sect and that it has attributes, there is no doubt that it does not exist. There is no group known as “Jaamiyyah“. Rather, they are known as “As-Salafiyyah“. They also add to it what is not found with them. They attribute it (this label) to Shaykh Muhammad Aman Al-Jaami – may Allaah have Mercy on him -, and he is from the scholars of “As-Salafiyyah“. It is just how they attributed “Wahhabiyyah” to Shaykh Muhammad bin Abdul-Wahhaab.

I read from one of them who said, “They say that ‘Jaamiyyah‘ doesn’t exist, and there’s Muhammad Amaan Al Jaami’s ascription? This is a contradiction”. No! We say that there is no group known as “Jaamiyyah“. I challenge them to bring the names of the principles that oppose the principles of the methodology of the Salaf-as-Saalih (pious predecessors) that they call “Jaamiyyah“. These people that use this term “Jaamiyyah“, they ascribe it to Shaykh Muhammad Amaan Al-Jaami, and he was a Salafee Shaykh. He did not differ in his teachings from what Shaykh Ibn Baz taught. In these days, they have become more vocal with what they call the Arab Spring – which some scholars have labeled it as a drought, Shaykh Saleh Al-Fawzan called it the Western Spring. – They have become more vocal. Even regarding Shaykh Saleh Al-Fawzan -may Allaah preserve him- , they call him the Shaykh of “Jaamiyyah“, they call him a “Jaami“. Why? Because he warns from the fitan (tribulations). After what happened in Libya, when the Shaykh said, “avoid the fitan (tribulations) and try to reconcile and unite”, they associated it as “Jaamiyyah” (and said) the Shaykh of the “Jaamiyyah”.

I say, O brothers, this type of labeling of Ahlus Sunnah will not be found on the tongues of the Salafee. So beware of being deceived, or deceive, by those who utilize these statements. Rather, by Allaah, if you see a person going to the well-known Salafee scholars and insults him and labels him with these labels or mumbles that they are Ghulaat (extremists), then refrain (from associating with him).
