The Youth Who Said: The Jaamiyyah is the most dangerous sect

A student came to us in one of the committees at the Islamic University and someone he met asked him about the sects. The intent of the questioner was regarding the known sects like the Jahmiyyah, Mu’tazillah, Ashaa’irah, Maaturidiyyah, Ikhwaniyyah, Tableeghiyyah, and other than them. So the student didn’t know anything about this. He said, “By Allaah, the most dangerous sect is the ‘Jaamiyyah‘”. The “Jaamiyyah“. He was a young student who memorize the Book of Allaah -عز وجل-, he came from one of the cities in our land. So our brother – May Allaah Reward him- asked him, “My son, you are an intelligent person, you memorized the Book of Allaah -عز وجل- and you have good traits, so who told you that there is a sect known as ‘Jaamiyyah’?”
He named one of the judges, and said “So-and-So, the judge from the judicial courts, said it to me”.
Then he said to him, “My son, did you know the Shaykh who is the reason people use this label?”
He replied, “I don’t know him.”
(He asked,) “Do you know of Shaykh Muhammad Amaan Al Jaami?”
He replied, “By Allaah, I don’t know him.”
(He asked,) “Do you know his books?”
He replied, “No.”
(He asked,) “Did you know that he was the Dean of the College of Hadeeth at the Islamic University (of Madeenah)? Did you know that he was the head of the department of ‘Aqeedah (creed) in the Higher Education Department of the University? Did you know that he was a student of Shaykh Ibn Baaz and Shaykh Muhammad bin Ibrahim? Did you know that he was a teacher in the Prophet’s Masjid until the day he died? Did you know that he tread the path of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah and called to it? Do you know anything about his books?”
He replied, “No, By Allaah.”
The brother who met him said, “Okay, I’ll ask you a question, if you stand in front of Allaah tomorrow, on the Day of Resurrection and you met Shaykh Muhammad Aman bin Ali Al-Jaami and he says to you, ‘O so-and-so, with what Book and what Sunnah do you revile me with and that you adjust the people to use a label ascribed to me?’ So what will you say to your Lord at that time?”
Allaahu Akbar! So the brother who met the student said that he began to cry, this youth began to cry and said, “By Allah my brother, now you have brought this to my attention that I have violated the honor of this scholar for more than five years. May Allaah reward you with good. Perhaps you could show me his books that I may benefit from it.”
