Research Notes: As Deroche (2006, pg 55/56) and Gacek (2002, pg 189-191) explained, this type of paper ranges from the 5th/11th century to the 9th/15th century. The type of paper, based on the description, matches a 9th/15th century manuscript at University of Michigan, Special Collections Library, Isl. Ms. 247. Given the death of the author in the 8th/14th century, it is more likely based on the style of the script and the paper that this manuscript dates to the 9th/15th century. | Several sections (ajza’) of this work have been studied, checked, and published as Master’s and Doctorate Theses by graduates at Umm al Qura University. The relevant section related to the content of this manuscript section was published by Dr. Muhammad bin Mahmoud bin Mubarak Al Utaybi as part of his Doctoral Thesis in 2015 covering the chapter of Khula’ to ar-Rukn ath-Thani (Al-Lafdh) from Kitab at-Talaq. He relied on the Istanbul Manuscript dated 878H. He notes that he was not able to find this particular Juz from the other available manuscripts of this work. A 15th Century CE (9th Century Hijri) manuscript of Volume 1 (Kitab at-Tahara until Bab al Ghusl) is in the Princeton University Library (Garrett no. 2486Yq).
