Author: Ayyoub bin Moosa Al-Husayni al-Qarimi al-Kafawi, Abul Biqaa al Hanafi (d.1094H) | أيوب بن موسى الحسيني القريمي الكفوي، أبو البقاء الحنفي
Biography: He was from the Qudhat (Judge) of the Hanafis. He lived in Kaffah in Turkey and held the position of Judge in Kaffah, Jerusalem, and Baghdad. He returned to Istanbul and died there. He was buried in the Khalid Cemetary [Al-A’laam of Az Zirkili, 2/38]

Description: 27 Lines/Page | European Laid Paper | Black ink with rubrication of terms and titles. | Numerous marginalia / Hawashi | There are wormholes on every folio, no damage to text. Some pages are thickeer/heavier than others, and several folios are a bright white color indicating different paper was used (see fol. 304 & 311) | The cover is in good condition

Provenance: Acquired from the private collection of R. Hayden. An ownership note states that this work was checked by قوا لاكى زاده مصطفى بن إسماعيل and there appears a seal with his name as well
Research Notes: The publication by Ar-Risalah in Beirut (8th of Dhul Hijjah, 1431/ 15th of November, 2010), checked by ‘Adnad Darwish and Muhammad Al-Mirsi, was based on a manuscript scribed in 1169H based on reviewing a manuscript that was directly copied from the manuscript written by the author. Some fragments dated 1183H of this manuscript (8 Folios) are in the African University in Darar, Algeria. There is also a manuscript in the Umm al Quraa University Library Call # 103. This manuscript is beautifully illustrated with gold ornamentation on the first page with gold borders throughout the manuscript. It is dated 1183H. There are several other manuscripts of this work from the same era.
