Last tape on “The Explanation of the Letter of Shaykh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhaab to Qassim” Time: 01:52 minutes.

Qaari (reciter/reader): “It has reached me that you have received the letter from Sulayman bin Suhaym and accepted it and believed in it…”

Shaykh Saalih bin Al Fawzaan explains:

Meaning, it is as if he – may Allaah have Mercy on him- inferred that the reason the people of Qassim questioned him is their question about his Aqeedah (creed), the reason is the letter of Ibn Suhaym. For when the letter of Ibn Suhaym came to them, they wrote to the Shaykh asking about his ‘Aqeedah. This is what is obligatory. What is obligatory is verification. They did a good thing in this, because the obligation is verification. If it comes to you that a person said such and such, then it’s an obligation on you to confirm it.

Allaah said: “O you who believe, if a sinner comes to you with news then verify it…” (Surat Al Hujurat: 6)

If only the students of knowledge and the youth now would follow this methodology and verify and abandon this harassment and bickering between them, because they are brothers, they are brothers and students of knowledge. Their ‘Aqeedah, and all praise is due to Allaah, is one. They should leave off this bickering and accusations and verify what is between them. If something is affirmed with what is said, then they should advise each other and they should not make it into accusations, defamation, and bickering with speech. This is not permissible – ever! The obligation is verification. If something is verified, then he should be advised regarding what is confirmed of his mistakes and oppositions, because people are not infallible… people are not infallible. They should be advised. Yes.
