Shaykh Saaleh Al Fawzaan said:

Some of the brothers, may Allaah excuse them, when they have something of desires (hawa) with regards to a person, or if they have hate towards a student of knowledge or one of the scholars; they will ask you a question that you answer, then they will use it on that person and state that you intended him. So they will say “So-and-so said this about so-and-so”, and you didn’t say anything about this person or that person. You only answered a question!

They use it on someone then say that he intended so and so or this group of so and so, they will dub it on tapes or write it in books, because so and so said this about so and so and he answered like this. Their intent with this is to spread corruption between the people and bickering between the students of knowledge and having enmity between the students of knowledge. We warn you from this and advise against this trait and not be deceived by this. Beware of this with severe caution. Yes.

“The term ‘Salafi’ splits the people” – By Shaykh Saleh Al Fawzan

The Term ‘Salafi’ Splits the People

By Shaykh Saleh Al-Fawzaan

Question:

Some of the Du’aat, may Allaah guide them, say that the term “Salafi” splits the people, so don’t say “I’m a Salafi”…

Shaykh Saaleh Al Fawzaan interjects:

Yes. Yes. The term “Salafi” splits the people.Between the Salafis and the innovators and people of misguidance. All praise is to Allaah. This is a characteristic that the people are upon the Madhhab of the Salaf.

“”And I have followed the religion of my fathers, – Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaq (Isaac) and Ya’qub (Jacob) [عليهم السلام], and never could we attribute any partners whatsoever to Allah. This is from the Grace of Allah to us and to mankind, but most men thank not (i.e. they neither believe in Allah, nor worship Him). (Surah Yusuf: 38)

Following the Salaf in ‘Aqeedah and Tawheed is honorable and praiseworthy. We are proud (about this) and we ask Allaah to make us upon the Madhhab of the Salaf, and to make us firm upon it. Yes. Even if we split them, we don’t unite the people (upon anything), we don’t unite the people (upon anything), we call them to the Madhhab of the Salaf and the correct beliefs. If they accept, then All praise is to Allaah. If they want to split, then they chose it for themselves. Yes.

“Important Advice to Students of Knowledge” – by Shaykh Saleh Al Fawzan

Important Advice to Students of Knowledge

By Shaykh Saleh Al-Fawzaan

Translated by:

Akram Abdul Qaadir As-Saylanee an-Najdee

Source:

Shaykh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan said:

Do not speak without knowledge! Do not climb up in knowledge through other than its doors! Don’t take knowledge from other than its people! Don’t suffice yourself with books claiming that you have become a scholar! You memorize and you don’t have understanding. Memorization is not enough. You must have understanding and knowledge. This is a path of misguidance and the path of the people of misguidance – we ask Allaah for protection -

So it’s upon our youth – May Allaah make them steadfast -to prioritize this issue, to sit with the people of knowledge, to listen to them (to learn), and to take knowledge from its people. They shouldn’t take from their own understandings, books, and those who are similar to themselves – from those who do not know.

“If Allaah guided us, we would have guided you” (Surah Ibraahim, verse 21)

They will say this on the Day of Resurrection.  “If Allaah guided us, we would have guided you”.

So O brothers, pay attention to this. Pay attention to this -May Allaah make us and you steadfast upon righteous speech and action- . May the Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and companions.

Humility for the Sake of Allaah – by Shaykh Saaleh As-Suhaymee

Whoever has Humility for the Sake of Allaah is Raised

By Shaykh Saleh bin Sa’ad As-Suhaymee

Translated by:

Akram Abdul Qaadir an-Najdee

Source:

Important ِAdvice for the Muslims; http://www.sahab.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=108743

The Shaykh said:

Whoever has humility for the sake of Allaah is raised (in rank). Many of the pretenders to knowledge have reached the level they’ve reached in vanity from pretending to seek knowledge, pride, vanity, and deception from what they have easily attained in knowledge. Some of the Salaf have said:

“A person does not cease to be a scholar as long as he seeks knowledge, when he thinks he has sufficed in knowledge, then he is ignorant.”

And from what I’ve benefited from our Shaykh, Shaykh Hammaad Al Ansaari – Rahimahullaahu Ta’aala-; and he is from the Mashayikh of the noble Da’watus Salafiyyah upon the path of our noble scholars, past and present; he said:

“Knowledge is of three types: knowledge that leaves behind pride, knowledge that leaves behind apprehension, and knowledge that leaves behind humility.”

Then he – Rahimahullaah – explained and clarified:

Some of those who attain a little bit of knowledge and then boast to the people with it and speak  eloquently, choose strange speech, and come with strange issues, differ with the religious rulings (Fataawa), and are hasty in giving rulings, and similar to that, then this is the knowledge that leaves behind pride. He may have something from knowledge, but he has wasted it with this arrogance. If he feels that this knowledge makes him great among the people and he becomes arrogant, then he should fear Allaah and be warned that he has reached a dangerous level. This knowledge leaves behind arrogance. And many of those on the satellite TV shows, those who try to fool some of the people, are from this group.

Knowledge that leaves behind apprehension: It is the knowledge that the person acts upon it whenever he learns about it. He acts upon it and calls to it, after he affirms and verifies it, and after he studies with the major scholars and commends learning with them. This is the knowledge that leaves behind apprehension. Allaah – Tabaraka wa Ta’ala- says: “Indeed those who fear Allaah from His slaves are the scholars” [Surah Faatir]

Knowledge that leaves behind humility: If he fears Allaah, what is the result? He has humility with the servants of Allaah. If he fears Allaah, he has humility with the servants of Allaah. And this is affirming the statement of the Messenger of Allaah – SallAllaahu alaihi wa salam- “Whoever has humility for the sake of Allaah, He will raise him”.

So have humility for the sake of Allaah O Students of Knowledge! And O Muslims! For this makes the Muslim have a clear heart and clear intentions, meaning that he checks the Truth, and he always feels that he falls short in obedience to Allaah, he always feels that he has not attained anything without the major scholars, so he is humble and tranquil for the sake of Allaah – ‘Azza wa Jall- and he speaks upon what he is able from what Allaah -Tabaraka wa Ta’aala- has given him. He does not go beyond the limits Allaah set for him.

“Allaah is Above the Throne” – Risalah of Ibn Abi Zayd Al Qayrawani (Shaykh Zayd Al Madkhali)

Explanation of “Allaah is above the throne”

“Upon the Throne He has Ascended”

Explanation

The statement of the author – May Allaah have Mercy upon him – : “Upon the Throne He has Ascended” means: That ascension over the throne is from the attributes (related to actions) of Allaah – Tabaraka wa Ta’alaa-, and the throne is from the creations. Allaah has the attribute of loftiness, and He has the attribute of ascension. He has ascended upon the throne in with a ascension of reality that befits His Majesty. Whoever distorts this speech has opposed the Salaf, oppressed himself, and spoken with falsehood.

The students of knowledge know the sects that differed with this attribute and its peers. They are the Jahmiyyah, Mu’atillah, Ashaa’irah, Kullaabiyyah, and Maaturidiyyah. All of them have differed in regards to this attribute and interpreted it with falsehood.

There are those from them who completely negated the names and attributes of Allaah, such as the Jahmiyyah and Mu’atillah, and clarification of that has already preceded.

There are those that affirmed the names and negated the attributes, like the Mu’tazillah upon misguidance.

As for the Ashaa’irah and those who turn to their understating, then they interpret “Istiwaa’” (ascension) with “Istaylaa’” (control) and dominance. Additionally, they interpret the other attributes, and due to that they’ve become the people of partial negation. Even though some of the scholars agreed with them in their reprehensible interpretations. However, they are not to be coupled with the people of innovations, such as the author of Al Fath (Ibn Hajar Al Asqalaanee) or Ash-Shawkaanee in some of their books agreed with the Ashaa’irah in their interpretation of this attribute and its peers. They are not to be classed with the Ashaa’irah that have established principles in this methodology that opposes the methodology of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa’ah. Due to this, we do not warn from their books, not from Al-Fath (Al Bari) and not from Fath Al Qadeer, nor from the books of Al-Qurtubee, or the remainder of the books of those who have profuse knowledge that is benefited from in their books. What they have erred in regarding interpretation should be clarified to the people so that they do not follow them in that.

Question:

What is your opinion on the one who says that refutations harden the heart?

Shaykh Saaleh Al Fawzaan answered:

No! Abandoning refutations hardens the heart, because the people will continue to live in error and misguidance and this will harden their hearts. As for clarifying the Truth and refuting the falsehood, then this is what softens the hearts, without a doubt. Yes.

“The First Time I Came Across this Story, I Cried”- Shaykh Rabi’ Al Madkhali

The First Time I Came Across this Story, I Cried

By Shaykh Rabee’ bin Haadee Al Madkhalee

Translated by:

Akram an-Najdee

Source:

http://almhmade.blogspot.com/2012/07/blog-post_3407.html

Shaykh Abi Ar-Rabee’ ‘Arafaat bin Hasan Al Muhamadi posted on his site:

In Taareekh Baghdaad (12/16), Al-Khateeb recorded with a chain of narration to Kharrazaad Al-’Aabid who said:

I was with Ar-Rasheed and Abu Mu’aawiyyah Adh-Dhareer entered with a man who appeared to be from Quraysh… so he reported Hadeeth until Abu Mu’aawiyyah narrated the Hadeeth of Al-A’mash from Abi Saaleh from Abi Hurayrah:

“Indeed Moosa met Aadam” and he said “You are Aadam who removed us from Heaven…” and he mentioned the Hadeeth.

The Qurashi said: “Where did Aadam meet Moosa?!”

Ar-Rasheed became angry and said: The sword, heretic, by Allaah, he reviles the Hadeeth of the Messenger of Allaah – salallaahua alaihi  wa salam-.

Shaykh Rabee’ bin Haadee Al Madkhalee said in his explanation of the ‘Aqeedatus Salaf As-haabul Hadeeth (353-354):

The lesson: is that he became severely angry for (in support of) the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah -salallaahu alaihi wa salam – and gave importance to killing the one who rejects this Hadeeth…

And he saw that this is from honoring the Messenger of Allaah – Salallaahu alaihi wa salam – when he’s (salallaah u alaihi wa salam) denied.

The first time I came across this story, I cried. By Allaah, the One whom there is nothing worthy of worship but He, we along with our youth, who becomes angry nowadays for the sake of the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah – Salallaahu alihi wa salam – with this kind of anger?!

The Questioner asks:

Ahsan Allaahu Ilaykum, some say that refuting the people of desires and innovations is a waste of time, and that it does not benefit the layman. Is this correct?

Shaykh Saaleh Al Fawzaan replies:

It’s a waste of this person. The one who said this is the one who wastes. As for the clarifying the Truth, then this is refuting to return one to the Truth and what is correct and uniting the Ummah upon the Truth and what is correct. Yes.

“Insulting the Du’aat and Scholars” – By Muhammad Aman Al Jami

Insulting the Du’aat and Scholars

By Shaykh Muhammad Amaan Al Jaamee

Translated by:

Akram an-Najdee

Source:

Audio clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gY7pnAeiAs0

The questioner asks:

We would like some guidance from you for the youth in regards to respecting the Salafee du’aat (callers) and not reviling them, because reviling them is reviling what they carry from the Da’watus Salafiyyah.

We would like that this would not exist.

The Shaykh – rahimahullah- answers:

Firstly, reviling the scholars or the Du’aat, the Du’aat to the Truth – alive and dead, is backbiting. People in these times have become lenient in backbiting, and it is a dangerous matter. Reviling the scholars includes alienation of the scholars. If a scholar is reviled, for example a noble scholar who is well-known among us, the people will be alienated from his knowledge and be diverted from him. Therefore, there will be less benefit taken from him. So, those who block the paths from among the students of knowledge will persist. Then, even with the Du’aat who are not Salafee – from the Du’aat of the Khalafiyyeen (those who don’t follow the Salaf) and the Du’aat of the Sufis and the Jama’aat (groups) – it should not delve into their honor and reviling them in this way. No. If you they are callers, it’s on you to clarify their mistakes and warn the people from their mistakes. This is the advice from the chapter of Jarh wa Ta’deel (criticism and praise). As for delving into their honor – as long as they are Muslim- and degrading their honor in the general sittings, just because they are not Salafee, this is wrong. It is misconceived. It’s not permissible for you to backbite a Muslim as long as he is Muslim. And degrading him, harming him, and take from his flesh (backbite). No! This is Haraam (forbidden). It’s a serious issue. So what do you think if this is about the Salafee Du’aat (callers) to the Truth whom Allaah has given benefit through them to the worshipers and the lands? You revile them so that the people alienate him, and perhaps you may fall into lying while alienating. And falling into lying – just like that- has become easy for the people in these recent times, and refuge is sought with Allaah.

There are those from our noble scholars whom we differ with in some issues, and with that it is obligatory on us to respect and appreciate them due to what they carry from beneficial knowledge and sincere advice to the worshipers of Allaah.

“The Bickering of the Students of Knowledge” – by Shaykh Saleh Al Fawzan

The Bickering of the Students of Knowledge

By Shaykh Saleh bin Fawzan Al Fawzan

Translated by:

Akram an-Najdee

Last tape on “The Explanation of the Letter of Shaykh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhaab to Qassim” Time: 01:52 minutes.

Qaari (reciter/reader): “It has reached me that you have received the letter from Sulayman bin Suhaym and accepted it and believed in it…”

Shaykh Saalih bin Al Fawzaan explains:

Meaning, it is as if he – may Allaah have Mercy on him- inferred that the reason the people of Qassim questioned him is their question about his Aqeedah (creed), the reason is the letter of Ibn Suhaym. For when the letter of Ibn Suhaym came to them, they wrote to the Shaykh asking about his ‘Aqeedah. This is what is obligatory. What is obligatory is verification. They did a good thing in this, because the obligation is verification. If it comes to you that a person said such and such, then it’s an obligation on you to confirm it.

Allaah said: “O you who believe, if a sinner comes to you with news then verify it…” (Surat Al Hujurat: 6)

If only the students of knowledge and the youth now would follow this methodology and verify and abandon this harassment and bickering between them, because they are brothers, they are brothers and students of knowledge. Their ‘Aqeedah, and all praise is due to Allaah, is one. They should leave off this bickering and accusations and verify what is between them. If something is affirmed with what is said, then they should advise each other and they should not make it into accusations, defamation, and bickering with speech. This is not permissible – ever! The obligation is verification. If something is verified, then he should be advised regarding what is confirmed of his mistakes and oppositions, because people are not infallible… people are not infallible. They should be advised. Yes.
