Advice for the Time of Increased Tribulations

Question:

What do you advise us with in these times where the Fitnah (trials and tribulations) are many, and the people of innovation have spread, and the scholars are dying?

Answer:

Firstly, I advise you with the Fear (piety) of Allaah ( سبحانه وتعالى), and to increase in supplicating that Allaah makes us and you firm upon the religion, and to prevent us from the evil of the tribulations.

Then, we advise you to seek knowledge. Seek knowledge with the people of knowledge. Be diligent in seeking knowledge, because the only thing that will prevent you from the tribulations, by the permission of Allaah, is correct knowledge. However, if you don’t have authentic knowledge, perhaps you would fall into the tribulations (fitan) and you would not know that it is a tribulation. So it’s upon you to seek knowledge with the people of knowledge, and do not become lazy in seeking knowledge in whatever you are able.
