Important Advice to Students of Knowledge

Shaykh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan said:

Do not speak without knowledge! Do not climb up in knowledge through other than its doors! Don’t take knowledge from other than its people! Don’t suffice yourself with books claiming that you have become a scholar! You memorize and you don’t have understanding. Memorization is not enough. You must have understanding and knowledge. This is a path of misguidance and the path of the people of misguidance – we ask Allaah for protection –

So it’s upon our youth – May Allaah make them steadfast -to prioritize this issue, to sit with the people of knowledge, to listen to them (to learn), and to take knowledge from its people. They shouldn’t take from their own understandings, books, and those who are similar to themselves – from those who do not know.

“If Allaah guided us, we would have guided you” (Surah Ibraahim, verse 21)

They will say this on the Day of Resurrection.  “If Allaah guided us, we would have guided you”.

So O brothers, pay attention to this. Pay attention to this -May Allaah make us and you steadfast upon righteous speech and action- . May the Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and companions.
